Sorah Al-Ma'un ( Small Kindnesses ) - Verses Number 7

أَرَأَيْتَ الَّذِي يُكَذِّبُ بِالدِّينِ ( 1 )

Seest thou one who denies the Judgment (to come)?

فَذَٰلِكَ الَّذِي يَدُعُّ الْيَتِيمَ ( 2 )

Then such is the (man) who repulses the orphan (with harshness),

وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ ( 3 )

And encourages not the feeding of the indigent.

فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ ( 4 )

So woe to the worshippers

الَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ ( 5 )

Who are neglectful of their prayers,

الَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَاءُونَ ( 6 )

Those who (want but) to be seen (of men),

وَيَمْنَعُونَ الْمَاعُونَ ( 7 )

But refuse (to supply) (even) neighbourly needs.

The Rights of ParentsIslam recognizes family as a basic social unit. Along with the husband-wife relationship the Parent-child relationship is the most important one. To maintain any social relationship both parties must have some clear-cut Rights as well as obligations. The relationships are reciprocal. Duties of one side are the Rights of the other side.
